ECT Secretary-General visited the Election Commission of India (ECI)

                   On 23rd January 2007, Dr. Suthiphon Thaveechaiyagarn, ECT Secretary-General, visited the Election Commission of India at its Office in New Delhi.  On this occasion, Dr. Thaveechaiyagarn had an opportunity to meet with Mr. R. Balakrishnan and Mr. J.P. Prakash, Deputy Election Commissioners, together with Mr. Rajesh Aggarwal, the Director of Secretariat of Election Commission of India.  They had discussions on various electoral topics including Indian electoral experiences and the utilization of the advanced information technology such as the use of the EVMs in the electoral process.  Dr. Thaveechaiyagarn is very impressed with the Model Code of Conduct, which can attract all political parties to behave ethically to the fair electoral contest.
