Regional Court of Appeal Region 4 Orders New Election for Chief Executive of the Khon Kaen Provincial Administrative Organisation;
ECT to Proceed in Accordance with the Law

The Office of the Election Commission of Thailand (ECT) wishes to announce that
the Regional Court of Appeal Region 4 delivered its judgment on 6 August 2026 in Election Black Case No. Lor Tor Or Bor Jor 1/2026, Red Case No. 3248/2026, between the Election Commission, the petitioner, and Mr. Watthana Changlao, the respondent, concerning a petition requesting a new election for the Chief Executive of the Khon Kaen Provincial Administrative Organisation.

Having considered the facts and evidence in the case, the Regional Court of Appeal Region 4 ruled that a new election for the Chief Executive of the Khon Kaen Provincial Administrative Organisation shall be held to replace Mr. Watthana Changlao, the respondent.

The Office of the Election Commission confirms its readiness to proceed in compliance with the judgment and legal procedures. A new election for the Chief Executive of the Khon Kaen Provincial Administrative Organisation will be held within 60 days from the date on which the local executive vacates office. The candidate application period and election date will be announced to the public in due course.
